How is a good harness designed?

Each link of harness design needs to be targeted. For example, design drawings, design samples, size, etc. need to be revised and confirmed several times to ensure the harness quality and safety. Harness design is a very rigorous work. The accuracy of its design is directly related to the performance and quality of the equipment.

The following are some relevant harness design accuracy and testing standards that need to be understood during harness processing, so as to ensure the reliability of the harness product quality and ensure that the harness product has zero defects so that customers can use it safely.

1. The crimping point shall be firm and shall not be damaged or disconnected under the specified tension.

2. The surface insulation at the crimping point shall be good and the conductor shall not be broken.

3. The bundle binding material shall be extended within 25mm from the end of the plastic case, except for a single wire.

4. Voltage drop test requirements: refer to standard QC/T29106-1992 for detailed requirements of voltage drop of terminals.

5. The connection pin can be crimped using U-shaped terminal crimping and ultrasonic fusion, and special machines are required for crimping.

6. The wire harness connection point shall be fixed and bound with wear-resistant cloth woven tape. In the area with waterproof requirements, the connection pin shall be protected by a heat-shrinkable pipe jacket. The heat-shrinkable pipe shall be resistant to temperature of - 40 ℃ -+100 ℃.

7. The industrial harness label shall specify the connection position and print correctly and clearly. The label shall be pasted at the place about 50mm from one end of the harness and firmly.

8. Minimum pull-out force test requirements: the connection between the terminal and the wire should be firm, and the tension test should be carried out on the crimped harness at a rising speed of 200 mm/minute, and the minimum pull-out force should meet the requirements.

The designed harness products can be mass produced only after they have been verified in many aspects, such as proofing, test and technical feasibility. In this way, the designed harness products can meet the needs of customers, and can also reduce the waste of raw materials and production costs in the production process.
